Elana Rose Summers - Photographer
Elana’s Statement: “I love the diversity of nature; flowers, the incredible sunset sky palettes, breathtaking scenery, and our comical and endearing animal companions. I am also fascinated by man-made scenery such as old buildings and old machines.
I have always enjoyed photography, and even though I use a digital camera, I am a purist, and prefer to leave my pictures un-retouched and un-altered, just as I find them. It is my love and appreciation of all of the countless gifts we have around us, which I hope to convey and share with you, through my camera lens.”
Elana will be sharing wall space in the gallery with Jim Stremel, our Art Gallery Coordinator. He will be displaying his watercolors.
Blake Higgins artist
Blake’s Statement: “Ever since I was a child I’ve been fascinated with faces. Each face so unique. Whenever I look into someones eyes I note the color, even eyes can be so unique, the color, shape and expression of the individual the window to the soul.”
Born in Long Island, Blake is a self taught artist with a strong background in Graphic Arts having worked for many years in retail advertising as a designer, illustrator, art director and advertising manager.
Blake has also taught illustration at a college level and teaches fabric painting locally and at national conventions.
Most noted for her bold use of color and striking portraits, she enjoys painting in all mediums. Her portraits hang in many prominent homes from coast to coast.
Though one might call Blake a realist, others might say she’s a colorist taking realism a step beyond through her dramatic use of color. With a love for animals and all of nature’s beauty her scope of subject matter seems unlimited.
The wonder of life in all it’s magnificence has never ceased to amaze her and she hopes it brings some of that joy and wonder to you, the viewer. After all isn’t that what God intended when she was blessed with this talent.
