Several teachers will be attending the Children’s Ministry Training at Unity of Phoenix on January 19th. The workshop,
facilitated by Jacquie Hardesty, Regional Children’s Consultant, will focus on “Connecting in Your Classroom.” We will explore ways to create a developmentally appropriate environment for the age group, encourage active learning, and foster the building of relationships. Those attending will share their experience at the monthly staff meeting in February.
Special thanks to Martha Conyne for organizing and implementing the Christmas Card fundraising project. The children had fun making the cards and were excited to see their creation become a Christmas Card.
Patty Marsh, one of the teachers of the third, fourth, and fifth grade class, has initiated a study of the country Unity is recognizing for the month. We will extend the study to the younger classes as well. We’ll learn about the flag, the location of the country, main national products, religions, language, food, etc., all expressed by pictures when possible. The classes will go to the foyer to see the letter Unity sends to the ambassador of the country and also read responses from ambassadors. This study will be an expression on the Unity principle of ONENESS.
