Unity Church of Tucson

What a wonderful experience we had on January 20th, when we held a meeting to launch several activity groups designed to help new people feel welcome at Unity. We now have a group working on a mentoring program to assist those who are unacquainted with Unity and New Thought. Gregg Thomas, who ushers at the 11:00 am service, is leading this group, so if you have any input or time to support this worthwhile effort, please contact him.

Molly Nelson is heading up a group to review our visitor welcome packet and recommend any changes to its contents. Sammie Alijagic is spearheading an effort to mark various points of interest on the church grounds, with signs, maps and directions to help people find their way around.

Our extended Leadership Team is growing with the launch of these programs, and other activities we have on the horizon. We are continuing to expand the circle, and this is an opportunity for you to become more involved. By participating in service to others through your church, you can share your talents and abilities with others, gain experience in an area of interest to you, and feel the satisfaction of serving others. Please join us and let YOUR light shine for others.

On another topic, the Board of Directors usually has at least one member every year who completes his or her term of service and leaves the Board, while another new Board Member is elected from the congregation. The Board Members also change the offices they hold from time to time, to provide a variety of responsibilities and experience opportunities. In the coming year, Jim Stremel will be President, and I will serve as Secretary. Norma Roland will be Vice President, and Virginia Sosnick will continue as Treasurer. I look forward to continuing to serve the ministers and congregation in this role, and I appreciate all the great new ideas and activities that have developed during the past year.
